THE MILLET PROGRAMME

Initiated in July 2016, this programme draws on the idea of revitalizing the cultivation of millets in the local area (near Nagavalli village and its environs) and its dry grain complex.  The need to address the erosion of local, dry agricultural practices and the loss of local seeds, and to include new methods and orientation that can enable economic and ecological sustainability, climate-preparedness, food security, and integrated rural economies are some of the key concerns. Dr. Dwijendranath Guru is the advisor and key resource person for this endeavour.
