Promoting Sustainable Agriculture

The drought, since August 2016, has led several small and marginal farmers to abandon cultivation and many youth have migrated out in search of livelihoods and income. In order to support such persons and promote sustainable ‘dry cultivation’ (without water from deep-tubewells), PUNARCHITH solicited funds from a close circle of friends. Thanks to their generosity, the programme is now underway and several persons have received support to prepare their land for cultivation and to grow local grains and pulses.

Sponsors are free to visit the fields and to participate in sowing, weeding, and harvesting activities. They will also receive complimentary packages of grains and or pulses that are grown on these fields. [ Follow the developments of this programme through our facebook ]
